Big Boy in the High Chair

Levi has been eating his oatmeal since he was three months old.  But tonight was his first night sitting up in the high chair.  He is getting so big, so fast!  He loves his oatmeal...

This is his face waiting for the next bite...

Mmmm...not bad...

This is what happens when I don't make enough for him and have to get up to make more...

A very sad situation...

Don't worry, I made more and he ate until he was full!

Thankful

With Thanksgiving this week, I finally decided to work on an idea I found on the internet a long time ago.  They are called Grateful Stickers.  We have changed them to Thankful Stickers.  The kids and I are putting up sticky notes with things that we are thankful for.  It's been a lot of fun.  Some things are silly and some are really nice, like when Sophia put one up being thankful for Grace because she is so nice.  Love that.  It will be fun to see all the things we are thankful for at the end of the week.  I'll try to share a picture with you at the end.

Brooke and Levi

Levi - 5 Months

Levi was five months already yesterday!  I almost forgot to take pictures so at the end of the night, I told Brooke to snap some pictures of him quick for me.  Thanks Brooke!

At the end, Brooke told Levi, "Just one more picture Levi."  This is what he thought of that...

I promise he did this all on his own!  Yikes!

Casino Rules

There are a few things I learned on our SD trip about rules at a casino.  I learned the hard way, by doing them wrong, ha ha.

  1. Bring your I.D. along if you expect to buy a drink or even be in the casino...even if you look old.
  2. You can not have more than one drink at one time.  So make sure you are completely finished with drink number one before you ask for number two.
  3. No cell phones at the gaming table.
  4. I can't remember right now but I know there is a number four because all night I was paranoid that I would break rule number four!  Will post if I ever remember what I did wrong for number four!
  5. Okay, so number five really isn't a rule, but it is something you should for sure do.  Play a dollar chip on the extra spot that lights up. Seriously.  I hardly ever played my dollar chip on there.  I thought there would be no way anyone would EVER really win the $7,000 + jackpot.  I mean really, what are the chances?  You have to be dealt an Ace, King, Queen of spades.  Really?  Well, they showed me. Not long after Josh went up to the room for the night (remember he had classes in the morning, ha ha), one of the guys at the table that we had been playing with for most of the night actually WON the jackpot.  He seriously got dealt the winning three cards.  Unbelievable.  Of course, I didn't have my dollar chip down.  I could have won $100 for that one.  Oh well, you live and you learn.  But really, after that, wouldn't you think it would be FOREVER before those cards came out like that again?  I would have thought so, but the very next day the dealer got them.  Unreal.  Wish it would have been me!
So, it was a fun time at the casino and I guess I learned a few things.  Nice to get out for a bit with Josh and waste a little of his hard-earned money, he he.  Sorry honey.

Swimming Time

Josh has classes for work in Deadwood on Sunday and Monday.  We had planned on all going down, except for Brooke, on Saturday.  But with the winter storm heading our way, we decided to get out before the bad weather.  We made reservations in Rapid City for two nights and then we will head to Deadwood for two days.  Last night when we arrived, I decided to let the kids go swimming even though it was late.  It was a long drive and I figured the activity would be good for them.  So Josh and Levi stayed in the room while the girls and I went to the pool.  I think I might have enjoyed myself more than any of them!  It was a nice break for me!  But the kids had a blast, too.  I'm just trying to live in the moment and not worry too much about how the roads will be when we get home, and if we will even be able to get into our driveway!

Levi 4 1/2 mos.

This post is for my mom who is missing seeing pictures.  I had to get some pictures of Levi in the outfit she bought for him.  I just love this little flannel shirt on him!  He wasn't all that happy about having his picture taken, but I still think I got some cute ones, especially the one of him and Sophia!  I really love how he is discovering and taking such an interest in his fingers so I'm glad I got pictures of it.

Paul Ryan: Keep Homeschooling Free!

Paul Ryan: Keep Homeschooling Free!

Sometimes among all the issues a person can get lost.  For me, it is simple.  Republicans support homeschooling, or at least are not against it.  Democrats are against homeschooling.  They say nothing in support of it that I have ever seen.  Homeschooling is our life so, really, my choice is easy.
