Would You Like To Join Us For Supper?

So after my last post, you can tell it is really really cold here.  So maybe subconsciously I wanted to warm things up by burning down my house?
I was sitting here minding my own business, just checking Facebook when all of the sudden I smelled something burning.  What???  OH NO!  I then remembered that I put chicken on the stovetop to cook for supper!  I completely forgot about it.  I had the heat on high to get it going and was going to turn it down and let it simmer so I could shred the chicken for enchiladas.  I ran out to the kitchen and by the smoke coming down the hallway already, I thought for sure that my house was on fire!!  Talk about a panic!  I was so relieved when I got to the kitchen and didn't see any flames!  I am now thinking that I maybe need to check my fire alarms because I'm thinking they should have went of for sure...heck, they go off most of the time if the cheese from a pizza falls to the bottom!
The good news is that the chicken was salvageable and our supper is not ruined!  The bad news?  It is really going to take some elbow grease to get that darn pan clean!

Let's just hope that between the exploded soda and the burnt chicken that the excitement for today is over!

You Know It's Cold When...

...your Zevia is delivered frozen!  We finally got our order of Orange Zevia today and this is how it looked when we opened it!  I am so glad that Soap.com has such awesome customer service because a quick phone call and another case should be here on Thursday.  I just hope the next one doesn't freeze!
Can you believe the top is actually completely popped off of that one on the top?

Snow Ice Cream

We brought Andrina home with us from church today so that she and Emily could practice some songs on their guitars together.  I took a nap and when I woke up they told me about all of the things they had gotten done.  They practiced some new songs, did a painting jars craft project, made peanut butter cups...and ate them, and made snow ice cream...and ate that, too!  After I got up, they went outside and blew bubbles in the freezing temps, made more snow ice cream, made snow slushies, and played their guitars again.  During all of this they managed to take many photos and edited them.  It should be fun to see them on Facebook!  It's funny how creative teens can be when there is no internet!

"Talking to Your Best Friend is Sometimes All the Therapy You Need."

That quote pretty much sums up my day yesterday.  Life has been a little crazy for me lately.  Lots of weird stuff going on as far as "friendships" go.  So I've been feeling pretty bummed out and lonely.  Brandy had called a couple days ago and asked if she could come down on Friday to hang out for a while because it has been so long since we have been able to.  I was pretty excited about this, even if it was just for a little while!  Well, that couple hours turned into a whole afternoon and part of the evening!  We did a couple of projects.  Her kids came down after school to play with my kiddos.  We had so much fun and so did the kids.  It was great for everyone!
Thanks Brandy for the "therapy"!  Love you!

Levi's First Haircut!

Levi has been in need of a haircut for a little while now.  I haven't known where to take him though and it has been bugging me!  Today Brandy and the kids were here and she was helping me with some of my photo projects.  I remembered that she usually buzzes Jeff and Tyler's hair so I asked her if she would do Levi's.  Of course she said yes because, if you know Brandy, she is always up for a challenge!  Grace was nice enough to take pictures and as you will see, Levi was NOT a happy camper!  We tried chocolate chips and they kind of worked, but mostly he just cried and was mad the whole time.  But in the end it was worth it because he looks so cute and like such a little man...an adorable miniature Josh!!

Emily's 15th Birthday

November 30th was Emily's 15th Birthday!  It was such an extra special birthday because I planned a big surprise for her!  I called up her best friend's mom the day before and we made plans to surprise Emily by having Ramey come over for the day.  The girls hadn't seen each other in months!  It was so exciting and so very unlike me to plan something like this.  So in the morning I told Emily she could drive me in to town to get some milk at the gas station.  When we walked out of the gas station, her friend Ramey and her parents pulled up.  The look on Emily's face was priceless!  She was so excited...I am pretty sure there were tears in her eyes!  So we brought Ramey home for the afternoon and they had a great time.  We had cake about mid-afternoon and went to town for pizza for supper.  After that her friend had to go home but it sure was nice having her over.  We came home and opened presents.  All in all I would say it was probably the best birthday she has had yet!

One of her gifts, a shirt that Brooke picked out for her with a scarf to match.

Grace, Sophia, Emily, Lydia, Ramey, and Allison.

Trying Again...

Maybe, just maybe if I force myself to do a quick post before bed, it will be enough motivation for me to start blogging again.  I have been wanting to blog so very very much lately!  But the time and/or laziness has just not let it happen.  As I look back at past posts I realize that this blog is really our family history and I need to keep it up!  Also, when Josh is at work, I know he really looks forward to seeing posts with pictures of the kids.  Not to mention the grandparents and aunts and uncles that live far away.  So that is all I have for tonight because it is late, but hopefully tomorow night I can get things rolling here again!!

Brooke's 18th Birthday

I cannot believe I am the parent of an adult.  That is so weird!

It was a pretty simple birthday.  We took the whole family out to Applebee's for supper.  That was a nice treat!  Then we came home and Brooke opened presents...well some of them...some were ordered online and not arriving until a couple days later...typical of me.  Then we had Brooke's favorite, dirt cake.  It was simple but it really was a fun evening.

Sophia's Video Of Levi

When I was going through the videos, I found this one that Sophia took and I never even knew about it.  She is getting him to say "oh".  She even fixed his hair into a mohawk...not so crazy about that one, but it is funny!

Levi Sneezing

Levi can do a pretty good fake sneeze.  You have to wait until about half way through the video, but I think it's worth the wait.  It's so cute!

Levi Scooting Around

Levi has learned to scoot around to get where he wants to be!  So even though he isn't crawling, he is definitely getting harder to watch and keep out of trouble.

Starting Our Garden

Daddy will be so happy to know that his girls got the vegetables planted for our garden.  He and the girls picked out what they wanted to grow and the things needed to get it started while he was off of work.  But they didn't have time to get it planted before he went back to work.  Emily and Grace are hoping to do a bigger garden this year down on some of the irrigated land.  They plan on selling some things, such as corn, at the farmer's market in the fall.  By the house we will have the smaller plants.  Hopefully we can get it set up so all the wild animals don't just eat what we are growing!

Levi and Matthias - 9 1/2 mos.

We were able to get Levi and Matthias together again one afternoon last week.  It is so much fun, especially now that they are taking notice of each other.  They are so much the same as far as size goes, but boy are they complete opposites when it comes to personality.  Levi is so laid back and Matthias is ready to go find the next fun thing to play with!  Levi isn't even crawling yet and Matthias is almost ready to walk!  They are both so cute, sweet, and so wonderfully unique!
